help choosing 400EX vs 450R

Ok, can somebody give me an idea how much power & speed does a 450R have over a 400EX. Trying to compare to the 400EX i had which was bored .040 over with a hotcam, rev-limiter, K&N air box, pipe & exhaust.

I have never rode a 450R or 450YFZ, but i was told there is not comparison. Now, how about the 450R vs the YFZ? I hear the YFZ is faster than the R unless you put the HRC kit on the 450R.

ill put it this way, a modded out 400ex=stock 450R a piped 450r will beat all 400ex's besides like straight out drag ones like chads 502ex etc, your wrong about the yfz info, stock for stock they are equal, with a pipe the yfz will be faster, but the powerband on these 2 machines is completely different, if you are looking for all out power and your gonna mod it completely, get the R, its more reliable and will be just as fast or faster then the yfz with mods, if all you want is a pipe, the yfz will be faster in a drag race, i personally like the R a lot better, just because of where the power is and its very easy to handle for what i do

I have a 450R with the HRC kit installed. That quad scares the crap outa me nearly every time i throw my leg over it. You'll get bored with the 400ex after a while, the 450R will never get old. I wouldn't want any other quad on the market. 450R IS THE KING :devil: :macho

XxHonda_RacerxX said it really well, they are two different machines the 450r has alot of room for mods and is very reliable and the yfz is a great machine and is fast I personally like the trx450r better. There is no way of saying flat out that one is faster than the other. I have won my share of races and lost some too.

i've had both
modded 400 ex is great fun.

trx450r is an ear to ear grin machine. you will completly be satisfied with reliability, *** kickin power and handling.
