Where is the best place to get my 450 front shocks revalved and reworked? Give me some places i could check on. Also how do you guys like your stock shocks revalved if you have had this done?

Also, How much does this cost?

I have been running on the 450r stock shock rebuild (all three) since last April. This makes a world of difference if you are used to running elkas with the ssd. When we first got the 450r I didn't like how high the bike sat (felt a bit unstable) we did the conversion and I have not regreated it one bit, the rear revalve and respring helped with the bucking. Keep in mind this conversion is a less expensive option and works well.

How much does this run? Does C&D revalve and respring them?

it is $550 for the front and rear and if you want the extra 1" of travel in the rear add $65. The front is a triple rate with ssd and the rear is dual rate with ssd.

well worth the money in my opinion. No they are not going to feel like a set of axis or Elka's but I didn't spend that much either :) If you decide to go this route.

that really all depends on how busy the company is at the time, you would have to call them to get that information, i am guessing it would take no longer then 3 days to get your shock work done, but i am not for sure

i believe that the revalve is well worth it! i had mine done by C&D racing the site sponsor. the turn around time was great. the total time took a little over a week. including the new years holiday. i have been very happy with mine ever since i got them back. colby and dusty are very helpful and will treat you right. give them a call.

here is a couple pics of mine.

How much lower than stock can this set-up go? I would love to get mine done, but my main concern is lowering it a little without the bike rolling in the front corners while hard cornering. Does this help that problem? Right now I have my pre-load all the way loose.

the Derisi Racing kit front and rear has to be the best stock shock rebuild combo i've ever rode, idk how C&D's stands up to Derisi's, but w/ derisis frotn and rear w/ linkage kicks ***, the feel about the same if not better than elkas :D (i havent had extensive testing time, just a few laps on a buds quad)

I can also vouch for the Derisi rebuild, it works great! I had mine redone for MX racing and they work better than I expected. For the money they are a great choice.

Anyone else have pics of C&D's revalve/respring conversion? Derisis look nice, but I would like to see more of C&D's.

I sent mine to C&D this week for the conversion. Never dealt with them before and Colby treated me like I have been buying from them since day one. I will post pics as soon as I get them back. I know they are using Eibach springs. What does SSD stand for and what does it do? I have been racing for a few years now and I still have not learned suspension terminology--anyone that can shed some light on this let me know.

ssd is elkas term for self sagging device. other brands call it different names but in reality it means the same thing. this will make the shocks sag more so the bike will sit lower and you will have a lower center of gravity. it is a pretty nice after you drive a bike with ssd shocks and it looks good too. ;)
