what are the advantages and disadvantages of a stroker kit on a 400ex? when you stroke it doesant the rod get longer and piston smaller or something like that? is there such a thing as de-stroking something? thanks alot

when you stroke the bottom of the rod is move farter out on the crank. so the rod gets shorter, the piston stays the same size.

the advantage it alot more torque, but it won't rev as high.

good for woods riding, not good for high rpm power.

To increase the distance from BDC to TDC.=Stroker

You can build a short rod or a long rod, I like the long rod because it is easier on the cyl bore. You will see more out of round bores with a short rod stroker.

At 8000rpm the 500's stroker piston is going a lot faster than the piston with stock stroke at the same RPM.

Mine will still rev alot faster than a stock bike, and thats before the fuel injection. With the fuel injection it revs like a YFZ, well aleast to the rev limiter.

I wish I could take the cresit but I cant. I went through KMS performance. The cool thing abut it is, how easy it is to switch between gas, meth, and 25% nitrometh.

i wouldnt say too much about not having any high rpm power my powroll 440 stroker revs out like crazy and the power pulls all the way to the top.
