who has added metal to 400ex head to increase compression ratio

There's no one spot to put any, and if you did plasma spray the entire combustion chamber with enough to make any difference, you'd end up shrouding the valves. You can however remove some from the face - just be sure to check all valve clearances.

i am not sure what bore you have but if you have a large bore, you could put in a factory diameter thin head gasket. the thin and the smaller diameter hole would both increase the ratio.

Well what im thinking of is somthing like this. You could do it without shrouding the valves. I modeled my head after this one and the cc of the head was 33 thats 7less than when i started. check this pic out

On 11 to 1 wiseco piston with 89mm bore 70mm stock stroke would yield 12.83 to 1 compression. The only difference to this picture bieng that all sides have to be done in a four leaf clover shape. I checked this yesterday with playdough and a syringe graduated in ccs and it equaled 33ccs with all four sides done and 35ccs with 2 done like the picture. This was calculated with two pieces of the head gasket used and no base gasket. This combination woul yield perfect .040 squish, as well as a very turbulent cylinder to decrease heat. I want to do this but need to know how hard it is to weld on the head.

Somebuddy have any info on weather or not you can mig weld a 400ex head or by some other welding technique I could handle the porting if some one could weld it im trying to maintan high compression with a flat top so that It has more area for the spark. I think this will also provide less heat transfer to the head and cylinder. Compared to a dome piston
