after graduation ( 2 weeks) I'll have an hmf with a white bros head pipe in addition to all the other mods in my sig. I'll of course have to jet it. what I'm wondering is...what would be the best sprocket setup for my wheeler. I ride the local track quite a bit and I ride with a guy that has a 400ex and the jumps that he's hittin in 3rd I'm hittin in 5th. I short shift pretty bad cause I don't wanna rev it too hard. I guess I could hit it in 4th but it'd be rappin out pretty hard. anyways how many teeth on the front and how many on the back to get more speed without sacrificing too much acceleration.

a 14 front works well, or you could go to a 14/36. that will spread out the gears, you'll be hitting jumps in the lower gears, but you won't have as much snap.

what's the stock number of teeth in the rear? I know it's 13 in front and isn't 1 tooth change in the front equivalent to like 3 teeth in the rear? anywho I guess what I'm shootin for is to have the same power that I do now (with holes in my airbox and k&n) after I get the pipe, jets, and gears. so it'll feel like it has the same power, but the gears will be longer and it will go faster. as long as the 14/36 won't make it so I have less power then I do now...I'll be happy

13/38 is stock. i'd try the 14 front first, 14/36 might take away too much acceleration with your mods.

that's the thing, I think my bro already got the 14 front when he bought it. I haven't asked him yet. so I'll go ahead and buy the 36 rear and if that's not enough and I still have the stock 13, I'll go with the 14.
