The beater quad

A few months back, an ATVrider.com member and friend listed his 400ex for sale. I couldnt pass it up so i bought it.


I havent done much to it except ride it:p I did finally install some new rims and tires and i even re installed the stock pipe for peace and quiet:)

anyway, here is our beater:macho

Im sure one day i will rip it down and make it look better, but im kind of enjoying having a quad i can just pound on and ride for fun:D

thats what i was thinking. There is more money in your "beater" than i have in my everyday quad.

this is a beater.i was putting a new chain on it. i put the seat on and go.starts up every time first kick.

It's got quite a bit more than just Elkas and beadlocks.;) There isn't a whole lot on there that is still stock.

And Pappy, you don't need to use such harsh words as beater. Your killing me man.:D j/k I'm glad your getting such good use out of it.

i kind of thought about that after i posted. beater is used in the most loving way i assure you:p if my foot felt better and i wasnt draining more snot from my nose then them sand fleas draining oil from the desert:eek2: i would race the mofo at the penton:D

hey while i have your attention, what main jet does it have in it:p i have to rejet for the stock pipe and havent yet pulled it down to see what was in there.

Haha, I know. I think you should leave it like it is. Kinda of a sleeper. That way when you go screaming by people on the trail they won't know what hit them.

It is either a 158 or 155 main and a 42 pilot and I think I dropped the needle a clip. The 42 pilot helped starting it in the cold due to the choke being removed. I know what you mean about a quieter pipe. I'm actually thinking about putting the stock pipe back on the 450R.

lol..yeah it still scats when ya hit the go button:devil: its a bit fat down low, the main should be ok if its no bigger then a 158 so maybe ill try the needle.


the stock pipe is already back on my R. I cant ride it faster then it came stock so why worry with it:p

Same hear. The only nice thing is I can actually tell my bikes running when there are 40 other people on the line with pipes.:D

there are a few things we are waiting on yet for it to be finished,,, like hipers, and some other odd things.. but its 90% and the engine is finally done again
