i was wondering if anybody has had a failure with their pickup coil otherwise knownas an ignition pulse generator.I think this is my problem I suddenly lost spark, swapped out CDI box no help took it to the dealer they said it was the stator so i put in a WB high output one but you have to use the pickup coil off of your original stator still no spark

Try a new plug cap, plug wire, check your grounds, check your on/off or kill switch, you may need a new coil.
have your parts tested before you go spend alot of money on new ones........etc

Well put the new coil on the new stator it fired once and it was cold so it died.Tried to fire it again and no spark again. I have no clue where to go from here.

have you checked the pickup coil (that reads off the flywheel)?

have you checked to make sure it's not a problem with your kill switch / ignition switch grounding out the coil all the time?

service manual is down stairs.. but I'd start by checking to make sure both sides of the coil weren't grounded...

its cheaper to buy a $15 ohmeter and a book than to buy a source coil. GOOD LUCK , You can do it! just try!
