I would start by reading this thread >>> http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160869

Then wait for Jeff to say " NO "

Already read that thread and have heard Jeff say " NO " plenty of times. And im sure someone else is gonna get on here also and say no, but i dont care. I cant afford aftermarket a-arms. And my dad doesnt want me to put all that much into my quad b/c id be selling it and itd be a waste of time. And you didnt give me that much help sickmojave, that talks about the Z, i need to know about the cannondale, i beleive it mentions the cannondale in there, but not about the arms.

I know you don't want to hear it but "no" they will not work. If you can't afford aftermarket then don't risk serious injury by bolting up something that was not designed for your bike. Your much better off keeping it stock untill you can save enough money for aftermarket.

If your selling the quad why are you putting more money into it?

ok I don't want to start something AGAIN, But jeff do you know for a fact that they won't work???. I know they are not designed for that quad and that it could be deadly :huh ( right ) anyway, it might be the best thing to ever happen to a 300ex, if you never tryed it you can't say that it won't work. CAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW

Ok I am done:D

thanks for the input. And im not selling it now 400exrider707, but down the road when i do. My dads gay about stuff like that.lol. I was jsut wandering if these would mount right b/c i heard that the cannondale front end was identical to the 400ex front end, but i guess not. And im winning some burgard plus 2's right now on ebay, so maybe i'll win these and be on my way to beter handling.

Been looking for an answer to the same, but different- Will 400 ex a-arms work on the 300 ex? The pivot points appear to be similar (actually, I measured them) but shocks may be another story. My buddy just bought a 300 used, I still have my stock 400's laying around. Please respond if anyone knows

yes they will, but according to many people they wont work. Ive been told many times that just b/c something fits doesnt mean it works. So yes, they will fit, and if you use aftermarket 400EX shocks set up for 300EX aftermarket extended a-arms, it will work much better. But im gonna use the 400 a-arms ne way.

well, the intent isnt to totally use the 400's front end. I can call Elka for the rest, see what they would suggest for the shocks, but I dont see a problem with the arms... Well, forsee anyhow.

they say it throws off the geometry and that the arms arent made for it. I bet someone will get on here and tell you to do a search and it will show you all the reasons not to.

"and if you use aftermarket 400EX shocks set up for 300EX aftermarket extended a-arms",....what?...

i don't know what thats all about, but,i do know 400's arms and tie rods work on a 300ex with stock 300 brake lines..
( adds like an inch and a quarter i think.)
...it does throw the whole thing outa wack, but i guarentee YOU will never know it. and it hassn't killed me yet.

I'm using the 300's stock shocks on my conversion, but i only weigh about 140lbs wet....i've never hit a really BIg jump, so ive never bottemed them out....

if you use the 400's shocks, you'll need to make or buy another top shock mount.

theres another started forum on here that people are saying they are using 300EX aftermarket a-arms, and aftermarket 400EX shocks set up to there preferences and they like it alot better than using 300ex shocks. Do a search for 400ex a-arms and shocks on 300ex and you'll find it.

It would take way more fabrication than its worth. Stick with arms that are designed for your quad.
