socket size for rear hub

anybody know what size socket to use on the nut that holds the rear hubs on? i don't have a socket big enough, so i need to buy one, but i don't want to guess when i'm buying one.

Some of my large 1/2'' drive sockets fit metric very well. I used one when I pulled my axel. I think it's a 1-1/16, but don't hold me to that. Someone converted the size awhile back, it was very very close to 27mm.
