I just got my new black 450r , its completly stock execpt for a 13t front sprocket , i talked to a old friend today who has a raptor that has a slip-on only , he said he will be coming in town in a couple of weeks so we can go ride , he said that his raptor would eat my 450r alive , i just said that we would see. Do you think he will beat me? Are riding experience is about the same.

it depends on how long yall race.....anything under 300 feet, you will prolly take him. Since you have dropped a tooth, anything farther than that he will prolly come back to beat you. But just remember that your machine will walk all over his in the woods

450r will jump out in front but if its a long race the raptor mite catch up. Then again depends on rider.

what about a 1/8th mile? I have a HMF exhaust and a UNI air filter and the craptor has a t4 slip-on and a UNI air filter. I have 20" and 22" tires and a stock 14 tooth sprocket. He has 20" tires. What should I run and he weighs probably 25 more lbs. then me

If you are running the 1/8 mile goes with the 20'' tires. I raced my friends raptor with my 450r and I pulled away from him easily when the were both stock. If you are going to race a long distance stay with the 22"tires. The raptor is a little bit faster on topend but you should pull on him from the start so it will take a while for him to catch up if he even can.

thanks mr.big...i have alot riding on this race...the guy on the raptor has been talking for a long time behind my back to my friends so were going to the racetracks to settle it and race. If I lose i dont know what I will do but i'm not that worried about it

Trust me if you are a good rider he will not have a chance especially if you race on a track!

I agree, my bike is WAAAAAY faster with the 14 tooth front sprocket. I hate the 13.

My friend has a 01' stock raptor...(01's are a little faster than the 02's and up because of the gear and transmission changes) and i can beat him on top end with the mods in my sig. So, raptors cant be that much faster on top end than a stock 450r. I can blow raptors away so yes, i'd say you can beat the raptor.

ride update; ate the raptors alive 3-4 quad lengths everytime...there were yfz's there and the winner between us was always the one who got the better start. i got 2nd in the elimination tournament to a lowered and piped yfz, he beat me by about 2 quad lengths b/c he got a perfect start....
