most of the time for mx people run 8x8 or a 9x8 on the rear and for xc they will run a 9x8. On the front a 10x5. As for tires you can run 18" for mx and 20" for xc on the rear, the fronts for mx 19-20" most run 20" and for xc 21"-23" most people run 22" depends on the terrain.
