400ex vs. other quads

i have a 400ex with full hmf pipe, no air box lid new filter, stage 2 hotcam, Wiesco 11:1 piston, and a big gun rev box. i was wondering how it would do against a stock 450r or a yfz450. also my buddy has a stock z400 and i no that everyone says there so much faster than the ex but i should be able to smoke him right?

I think you will be able to smoke the z but not the yfz 450 even stock they are just super fast.I have seen them kill banshees with no problem.

i have the same mods as you but i also have MX porting. i have beatin all the Zs i have raced that had pipes full and slipon.also some Zs with high compression piston. raced a few 450rs and yfz's and i have beatin a few of them also. but none with pipes they were all stock. but also some stock ones have beatin me, really the rider has a ton to do with it. also you have the keep the drag race short. i race MX and sometimes i take the hole shot and sometimes don't. its really mostly the rider.

You will have no problem beating a z400. When I had my 400ex all I had was a slip-on and I could tie z400's. You won't be able to hang with a 450r though. My friend has a z400 with a complete exhaust rejetted and no airbox lid and I could pull away from pretty easily when all I had was the hrc kit.

i can smoke a z with no problem on my 426 with mods in sig. I can usually barely beat a stock 450, but if they have evan a slip-on i am toast.

i holeshot worked 450's all the time. but thats rider....and for the first 200 feet i have plenty of torque to hang with just Hot cams stage 2 cam, wiseco 11-1 piston, Mx port+Polish, HMF full system, Uni filter no lid. Once past 200 feet the 450s start to pull away but they have motor work also. I top out at like 64 with 18's and they top out at like 75. Of course you dont top out on the mx course but they get to their top speed just as fastlol. This winter im building a 450 stroker/big bore with FCR carb and all the goodies, dynos spitting around 55-57 hp when correctly jetted. Dual oil coolers and larger oil tank to cool the puppy down
