z400 carb on 400ex

does this work? stock z carb on a 400ex? the z carb is bigger so it wouldnt really work without modifying the intake boots? what do you guys think.

better off with a YFZ carb (FCR39mm) or a CRF 450 carb (FCR40mm) but if you have a Z400 carb sittin there give it a try, yes you'll need to either make and adaptor, grind on the carb or grind on the boots

will my stock ex throttle cable work? if i get this carb set up right with no leaks... will it fire right up and run good right from the start or will iut need adjustment.. also.. u think any gains with this carb... its off an 05z

dunno on the Z400 carb what cable you need,, i know with the FCRs you need a 450r cable or YFZ cable,, you should get a little gain.

The Z400 carb will hurt your performance. It does NOT have an accelerator pump. This is the reason that some people were upgrading their Z400's with the 400EX carb.

yea... my buddy just got a 40mm for his Z, so he said i can give his a try... ill give it a try... but i dont think i feel like messing around with it if its much of a hassle... if i were to get a fcr39 for instance... what do u think those gains would be over stock? on the ex
