how hard is it to strip your quad down to the frame? i want to get it powder coated

its not hard at all.
-first have a clean garage when you do it
-have ziplock bags
-have perminit marker
-mark the bags with what screws from what part
-have like crates or boxes to put all the parts in
-have a radio and few cold ones on hand
its all that simple

i haven't done it ..yet .but taking things off for me ..no problem! now putting it back together:confused: :huh

I did it this winter. It wasnt as hard as I anticipated but at times it was tough. Take pictures of the hrd stuff before you take it apart. That can save you alot of money at a dealer. Here is mine after I was all done w/ my winter project

400exs are really easy because the motor just slides out of the frame , where as a 400ex you have to move it every which way to get it out.

me and FreeStylexrider did mine in about 5 hours, then we washed and put everything in boxes and labled it all

It took me about 6 hours to do the whole thing!! I took EVERYTHING apart! No 2 parts are still together!! I powdercoated just about everything that can be powdercoated!!!

did you have pictures in another post? or do you have new pictures to post. i wanna see something thats becomming out of all your money! :P what color did you powder coat everything and who did it?

ying! powerder coat adds 30hp! and a set of sprockets add 22 1/2!

You can look in my sig to see everything I powdercoated! I had it all done for $200, and thats including ceramic coating my headers also! I have pics in the TC 505 post in the open forum but its prolly a couple of pages back,,I havent posted there in a little bit. i will be putting my rolling chassis back together this weekend for sure!!

250X's and 300EX's are tough though, because the motor barely fits inside the frame. Ive got it about 3/4 the way down before,i dont know why i just didnt take it all apart.Get some nice powdercoating action in :)
