black wheels on 450's

I was thinking of buying some or painting black wheels for my 05 black 450r , please post pics of 450's with black rims (painted or pc'd , dosent matter as long as there black) , and what would be the best stuff to use for a painting the wheels black.

either way they are going to chip off. So its either 4 bucks a shot or 40.00 bucks. with paint you can always paint them agian.

powdercoat in sand maybe not in the trail mine chipped off easy and the powdercoating was done right. some of the trails i ride through are filled with rocks though sut if yours arent go for it it does look good.

That top 450R is one of our shop bikes and its been raced Pro motocross for about 25 races and the PC still looks like that.

Since when are Hipers PCed or painted? Anyways, looks to me like you have that hood on wrong..the plastic goes on the outside.

You are right Hypers are PC'd and hood was a cheap ebay knock off and was designed for over the plastic. For $35 what can you ask for.

Hiper's are not powder coated! they are carbon fiber wich is naturally black in color.


my factory wheels were powder coated black. i ride only trails, and yes they have rocks. some very large rocks. they did scratch but if done right powder coating will not come off, just scratch.

have you tried to mount the hood on the inside. it was probably designed to inside , but most are quality rejects from quad tech or another manufacturer, so they don't always fit right.

When I first put it on I tried mounting it on the inside, but it did not line up correctly and made the stock plastic stick out real funny. It looks a little goofy on the outside, but the mounting tabs are pretty thick and have taken some good hits from tree branches.:D
