Buy whole or build next quad?

I was just thinking today,if i should buy a whole quad,or build one from scratch,i was going to start on a CRF 450 project,but i blew up my brothers DB engine and i had to buy a new one,lol so there went all of my money to start it,but my question is
Should i buy a used YFZ,R,or what?
or build a hybrid,or a trick 250r?or should i stay with a thumper nowadays?

stay with a thumper cuz nowadays thats whats in i think if you tried to sell a 250R locally you wouldnt get 1/2 as much as you should cuz its a 2-smoke thats how it is by me anyways buy a 450R and pimp it im sick of seeing the yfz's :macho

Build a 250r from the ground up, and if you decide to put in a 4 stroke motor in it use a motor that you haven't seen used before so that it is truly one of a kind.

something fun/cool about building a unit yourself tho, as long as you have patients its not bad, and if you look for deals it can be done done quite a bit cheaper than the average joe who builds it in a month, BUT... SRH is right in a way, Ive been staring at my 2nd 98% completed R, either I dont have the $$ when I do run across what Im after... or nobody has it when I do:ermm: but its not my main ride ,so its not so bad

250R's are getting pretty cheap to put together these days, and most parts are easy to find...

I think Im gonna build a 4st next tho:uhoh:

I would stay away from a 250r or any hybrids. You will just get screwed if you ever go to sell it. Buy a YFZ or 450R and build it up...

hey hey,check this out.if u really wanna kit butt.i know this guy that will build u a 400ex with a cbr600rr motor in it 160mph+,or a 400ex with a suzuki gsx600r with 130mph+ 0-60 in about 3 seconds.he told me $8500 for the cbr,and $7500 for the gsx.if ure interested i could give u his email,just email me.

I say build a 250R from the ground up. That is going to be my next project, I like 4 strokes and all, but i want a badass 2 stroke to rip around on. I don't care what anyone says, the 250R will run with the new 450's, those things RIP. Don't get me wrong, I love the new 450's but i think it would be fun to build a 250R from the ground up.

The last thing you want to do is use a blaster chasis for a hybrid quad. You are out of your mind.



Personally I think you should keep your 400ex for awhile. I don't think you race or anything and even if you did the 400ex would be pretty competitive. If you want to buy a car use the money you were going to use to start a new project. Keep what you have until you really think you need to build a new one but whats the rush?

Build this, i think this is one of the best hybrids ive ever seen, yz450f motor, gibson/custom axis, lonestar, it was in a shootout in ATV Sport, it pretty pimp. But it was like 22k to build.

i wish i had the money to build as nice of a 00 as you have now i think you should keep it but im with ya on likeing to switch up bikes i went through 4 bikes in almost 2 1/2 years :eek2: and im thinking about going to go up to a 450 motor in my 400 but i dont want to chop up my fresh powdercoated frame:(
