question about Motocross tires

Why does everyone run small tires in motocross?is it because of weight, cornering...etc. pleas give all the info that you can please.

Mainly because of a lot of what you said. Lighter weight, less sidewall roll, and more responsive handling in general.

True, I was going to say that but usually people regear to make up for some of the difference. I hated the stock 15/38 gearing after I went with 18 in rears, switched it to 16/38 and it's much better.

also so u dont bounce on the landing of the jumps. it makes a world of differance between my 22"+18"
