I have got a 450r with HRC kit, looking to buy sand-haulers. Was wondering if 9 paddles where to much, or if 8 are a better choice. Which haulers rule..

Thanks

The 8s are better, even our 480 wont pull 9s as hard as it will 8s.

Nothing worse than to have to much tire and loose power....

6 or 7 will be your best bet. It is nice to accelerate past the half way mark. 95% of quads out there are over paddled. Run a 22 inch tire

You will smoke 6s. 7s will be ok with just the HRC kit but anything more you will smoke 7s. 22s are hill paddles, they are great for top speed, but dont handle very well if your out tearing up the dunes,if you want to dune most of the time go with 20s, but we do run 22s on our 480.

Whats your gearing?
Do you launch in 3rd?

If you are tearing up the dunes, it is hard to beat the Sand Skate 2's.

13 front, 38,39,40 rear depending on which hill we are at. We launch in 2nd, Ive never seen a 450R no matter how big it is, launch hard in 3rd.

Ya I was thinking the 480 was an ex. The 450s have much taller gearing.

I run 9 paddle Extreme haulers and have never been beaten by another 450r without displacement mods. It surprises me to see people suggesting 6 and 7, I think 8 would be ok but any mods and you would just spin them. If I could buy tires over again I would get the same thing. I am running HMF full system, 13T front sprocket, and no air box lid.
