i just recently took off all the discs and stuff to clean them and i put them back on the other day. i went out riding yesterday and there's carbon starting to build up not only on the discs but coming bacck and making a residue on the actual exhaust further down the pipe. what gives? this wasn't happening before. is it time for a top end rebuild?

where is the carbon showing up... where the exhaust pipe meets the can itself? where the e slip on meets the head pipe?

the carbon is showing up right past the discs on the can itself. there is also carbon build up on the discs also, i believe thats normal. the carbon before never showed up on the can itself before and was wondering why.

yea i think so the disc part where the curve is faces towards the can right?

The discs are supposed to blow away from the can, away from the quad. . That how all the ones i've seen are and thats how mine is

Always good to make a silly mistake.. as opposed to having an actual engine problem.

I remember towing my buddies 300ex about 5 miles back to the trailer because it dumped it and it wouldn't restart. Once we got back, we noticed he accidentally hit the red kill-switch.. hehe. Everyone has to do that once.. lol.

yea, most defiantly, im happy that it is an easy fix and nothing major.
