I am putting my clutch cover, stator cover, and cylinder back on today so I was just wondering something real quick. Should I use permetex or gasket sealer on all the gasket surfaces? Also, I cleaned the gasket surfaces well with a razor and scraped as much old gasket off as I could. There are still a couple light spots with some old gasket on them but its not a big piece and seems to still be pretty flush with the aluminum. Cant get a razor under it. I would say its about 85% completely clean. Will it seal, or does it have to be COMPLETELY perfect? Ill also clean the surfaces with brake cleaner to get any oil residue off of it since I know gasket sealer doesnt bond to oil. Thanks in advance for any help.

A little bit of acetone will help clean it up. It needs to be very close to perfect unless you want to tear the motor down the repair the gasket again...
