Hmf or Yoshimura?

I was just wondering which pipe i should go with for my 400ex! I live in Canada and the price for an hmf would be $450 (tax included with the price haha) and $525 for the yoshi.

well, I have only tried a yoshi, and I love it. It sounds awesome and gives a lot more power and it only weighs 4 POUNDS. Thats cuz its titanium. I got the Pro Series full system. I recommend that. I don't know how HMF is.

I also live in Ontario, I was gunna order the Hmf from Rech Tech, he's located in Saskatchewan, and I was gunna order the Yosh from Lockhart's Odyssey. Do you know of any other places to get pipes cheaper? thanks. Those two pipes are both s/o.

go with the yoshi i have one and i love it sounds great looks good and performs good. i have never ridin an HMF but i have heard some good things about them. ether one you will be happy with if it was me though id get the yoshi

well ur payin 450 for a slipon hmf? ur gettin taken i can buy 2 hmfs for that price..but anyways..i run stock header and hmf and i love the power and the response it gives me...i had a chance to buy a yoshi..but i myself believe they are far overrated compared to Lrd, Sparks and i think HMF...

Ya the prices do run different here, its because of the Canadian dollar and stuff, because in the States there only like $220 for a slip on.:p

they re both pretty loud yoshi is somthin like 99 Db and the HMF is around the same. i have the yoshi its a little loud but i like it and it sounds good. my dad hates it though he says its too loud :grr: but it cool for him to run side pipes on his camaros. i took the end cap of my yoshi and it sounds real throaty

What do you guys think about the Procircuit t4? Or the fmf Titanium 4, or the White brothers e-series. Im tryin to figure out which pipe i want to get because im starting to get low on cash and i wanna have a little money left over for nerf bars or somethin.:o

they arnt the greatest but it depends on what you want. the exuast is somthin you dont want to go cheap with with. you get what you pay for. if your low on cash look for a used HMF everyone has one they are very popular check out the classified section for a part out. check ebay too. i would stick with the yoshi of HMF if i were you. JMO

i wouldnt buy a yoshi if it was cheap as hell..i think they are overrated POS's..and a hmf is alot more then 99db's i think the quiet series is 104 db's but a hmf w/ no quietcore is pretty f-ing loud...if i were u id get a hmf slipon..dont waste ur money on lil bull****..when u cna have the best "SLIPON" money can buy..

i personaly like the powercore 4, not only has it done well with performance all around but espeacailly on the low end, but also i have gotten many compliments on the way it sounds... and i definitly agree with the yoshi being over-rated and over priced, if the hmf or yoshi are the choises, id say hmf, havnt heard anything bad about em.

T-4 is noisy,cuz we have raptor and my dad put it , it give u very good sound and power.

Overrated??? read some reviews man. dirt wheels did a shoot out a while back and yoshi was the 2nd best pipe. they definatly are not POS. they are very well made never had any probs with mine. they give good performance too. im not saying they er the best but they are noware near a POS. i agree HMF is a great pipe i havent heard anything bad about them, but all the people i know that have a yoshi is happy with them.

ur payin around 400 u say!!!, i live in Nova Scotia, Canada, i got a quote from my Action Cycles, they said a yosh RS-3 full system would cost me over 800, i forgot to ask about the hmf, are the pipes ur gettin secondhand or what, i havent found a decent pipe around here under 600 (sept ebay).

For the Yoshi there about $550, there slip ons and there brand new. lol:p

idk what your talking about the yosh bein quite ! mine is extremely loud ! i can make a kid who has a 400ex with a wb pipe sound like a little sissy compared to mine.

I have an FMF Ti-4 on mine and love it. I've ridden on mine, a pro-circuit, an FMF powercore IV, and a white brothers R4, personally Im glad I chose mine, but I think the pro-circuit is next in line.

yamahawheels or not dirtwheels isnt biased on pipe shoot outs, i have never seen them like one exuasht brand yoshi scored 2nd thats in front of big gun, LRD, and DMC. i dont think duncan was in it and everyone knows Sparks is probably the best pipe out there. as for LTE from the reveiw they werent the greatest what so ever, and LTE are way over priced when you can buy a pipe for half of that and get more power. bottom line is yoshi makes a quality exuast that may not be #1 but it is still a great exaust, just look at the sport bike racing you ll see alot of yoshi out there, they make good products and i have never had any problems with mine and no one i kno that has one has never complained.

I have a t-4 slipon. It is an ok pipe. the power comes a little later than the stocker it hits harder in the midrange and topend than the stocker. The stocker is good for the first 2000 rpms but after the first hit on low end it sucks bad. I switch back and forth because I am not quite sure what my pipe registers for sound and I have a 96 decibel limit in my riding areas. The shoot outs say it is 95but it is a year old and I haven't repacked it yet. should it still be the same or would the pakcing wear out enuoght to make it louder? Check out these links. This one has all the info form the dirtwheels magazine shootout still. I have riden 400ex's with bigguns and they seem to be an ok pipe too but they were bored over. 426 and a 440. Heres another pipe shootout.
