is it normal for my 400ex carb to leak gas when i shake it back and forth but when i am rideing on flat round it doesnt leak.it only does when i go over woops or i shake it.

k dude seriously stop being a smartass. Correct me if I'm wrong but arent the 99 carbs different fromt the 2000-2005 400EX's? becuase there was a mechanical flaw in it?:confused:

99 and the 00's have a different float. it allows the fuel to be higher, and leak out gas. In fact, when I went to Sand Lake, i went through a tank of gas in an hour of riding due to this damn float. My uncle has an 00, and replaced it. He went all day on one tank! Order a 01 float from service honda. It is like 25 bucks, and will solve this problem.

did u fix your 99 ex also with a 01 float and it fixed your promblem two?

what float should i get an 01 and where do u find in on serivce honda and are u sure this will solve my promblem for sure..my dad needs to know he doesnt want to spendf money for no reason
