Im going to get a new quad and i was either going to get the sportrax 400ex or the trx 400ex would do you think.

Second off, the sportsman is a utility atv with optional 4wd and the 400ex is a much faster 2wd sport quad. u just need to look around a little more and see whats out there if you are asking questions like that.

the sportrax is the '05, it has dif plastics, gearing, and reverse and have heard it only tops out at round 55mph, the '04 and under top out at round 68-71mph and dont have reverse.

dude i dunno who told u the 05 tops out at 55mph but you are very mistaken....my 05 stock vs. an 03 stock was me on the 05 ahead by about a 1/2 a bike length

lol i have on 05' and easily beat an 04 ' in a race, the 04 and under topping out at 68-71 and the 05 at 55 is definitly not correct, where did u hear that from?

ok found out where i heard it, its in the "SPEED OF 400ex".

alright man, they are the same thing...before 2004 they called it the sportrax 400ex and then now they call it trx400. i dont know why but probably with the new 450rs out they wanted all one model name to aviod confusion i guess but i dont think its helping. if i had a say i wouldnt change the name. people usually refer to the as 400ex's anyways so you shouldnt get too confused.
