Hurricane Mills, TN - Do to a large amount of rain the track was rerouted and the start was moved. The race was also shortened to just 3 laps to eliminate the need for pit stops since the track was moved to the other side of the road from the pits.

Everyone gathered together to follow the police escort to the start area about a mile away from the pits.

Erika Jones made her return to racing at Big Buck after only missing one round for surgery, and had a season best finish of 45th Overall and 7th in the Women's Class, and she was hoping for her luck to continue this weekend and she trys to move up from 9th in the Women's Class.

Kim Muzzarelli 400ex Mom made the trip down from Washington, Il. Kim tries to make it to a couple of GNCC’s each year and usually does very well for only racing 2 or 3 races. She does race a lot of local races in her area.

Traci Cecco grabs the hole shot as they head for the woods. Stephanie and Angel were right on her tail. With only 5 points separating the top three women every position will count for the championship.

Jean Lovely had trouble getting her Honda started, she was last off the line and needed to make up a lot of ground if she was going to have a good finish.

By the end of the first lap Stephanie Parton had passed Traci to take over the lead.

Angel was the second to come around on the first laps for the women’s class. She also got around Traci.

Traci was in third place when she came through after the first lap. She had lost her rear brakes and couldn’t keep pace with Angel and Stephanie with no rear stoppers.

Stephanie Verkade was running 4th and trying to catch the top three. She is currently 4th in the points just 18 points behind Angel.

Erika Jones ran into trouble when she got her quad lodged between two trees, which caused her to only finish 1 lap. We hope she has better luck at the Penton.

Jean Lovely had moved up to 5th place by the end of the 2nd lap but ran into trouble and couldn’t finish her last lap. She finished 8th on the day.

Traci was making up ground on the second lap as she got back around Angel Atwell. But her brake problems would prevent her from holding on to 2nd place. She finished 3rd and is only 1 point ahead of Angel in the points.

Angel made her move on Traci in the third and final lap. She got by her a put about 90 secs on her but couldn’t reel in Stephanie Parton.

Stephanie Parton was rolling out front she pulled out to a 90 sec lead by the time she got to the finish line. She finished 6th overall and won the women’s class which earned her a 4 point lead over Traci Cecco for the championship.

Thomas Jenks #747 (no relation to Chris Jenks) was there to try and improve his position in the championship race. He finished 5th in his last race which was his best finish of the year.

John Gallagher SR. came back from his bad luck in the Big Buck with a vengeance. Winning the race by more than 10 minutes over 2nd place.

Jarrod Mcclure was there with his father. Jarrod hasn’t been able to win get a win yet but with 5 top three finishes he holds a 10 point lead over Bill Good.

Billy good was on a tear putting in the fastest lap of the day including the afternoon Pros with a 30:31 lap time. He was determined to make up for his bad luck in South Carolina where he finished 21st

Harlen’s day was not as lucky as he would have liked. Being held up in traffic, almost running off a cliff, just to name a few. Here he is trying to make the pass on Vasko.

Nathan Derrick couldn’t hold off TJ Lenig and Jarrod Mcclure on the last lap he finished in 4th just 4 seconds ahead of John Wright.

With Billy Good way out front the battle was for the second overall spot between TJ and Jarrod. TJ would finish in third and put his Cannondale on the podium spot for the third straight round.

Jarrod Mcclure has been Mr. Consistantcy with yet another podium to keep a 10 point lead over Billy Good. With another 2nd place finish I’m sure it is only a matter of time before he gets a win.

Domination is the only word to describe Billy Good’s race. He put 5 minutes between him and 2nd place overall. He is not going to give up his championship without a fight. I’m sure he will be looking for win #4 at the Penton. Congratulations on a great race Billy!!

Michael Swift was ready to tackle the sloppy track on his Kawasaki. He is looking for his third win of the season.

11 time GNCC champ Mike Penland was also looking for his third win of the season. Mike has a 1 point lead in the points over Swift. This is going to be another tight race for the championship.

The wet conditions really favor the utility quads. Swift got past Penland and Garrett on the 1st lap to take over the lead.

Kevin Trantham #601 moved up to 2nd place by the end of the first lap. Kevin was looking to improve over his 2nd place finish at Big Buck, which was his first race of the season.

Mike Penland made a charge on Swift late in the race but with it only being 3 laps was able to catch him. He finished in 3rd.

Swift was passed by Kevin Trantham on the 2nd lap and wasn’t able to keep pace with him. Michael finished 2nd. That puts him in a tie for 1st in points with Penland.

In his 2nd race of the season Kevin Trantham pulled out the victory by 1:39 over the rest of the class. He finished 25th overall.

Scott Kilby was sporting the ever popular trash bag look as he was looking for his 5th win in a row. Even with 4 wins he only has a slim lead over Cliffton Beasley in the points.

As they came thru the scoring tent at the end of the first lap Cliffton had a 5 second lead over Kilby. That lead would hold up as Kilby made the pass on the 2nd lap.

Kilby was out in front and pulling away. By the end of lap 2 he had a two and a half minute lead over Cliffton.

Ron Moore takes the outside line with the rest of the class roaring into the first turn. Ron took the lead on the first lap, but was passed by Neil Belcher on lap 2. Ron fell back to finish 8th.

John Ribley moved his way up to 2nd and battled back and forth with Robert Obrick. Robert got passed him on the 3rd lap and would finish 1 second ahead of him. The two of them couldn’t catch Neil Belcher who took his 3rd win of the season at round 6

Brent Foltz and his dad made the trip down from Terre Haute, Indiana for the race. Brent has a commanding lead in the points and I’m sure will be racing in the afternoon next season.

Derek Beaman was in 3rd at the end of the 1st lap but couldn’t hold off the hard charging Travis Rogers. Travis came from all the way back in 23 on the first lap to finish just ahead of Derek in 3rd.

Brent Foltz went wire to wire for his third win of the year. He now has a 48 point lead over 2nd place Kevin Yoho who finished 7th. Brent finished 18th overall.

Travis Keeton rode hard all day but couldn’t keep up with the pace of Thomas Wright. Travis finished almost 10 minutes behind Thomas in 2nd place

Kyle Coffey decided to give GNCC racing a try a t Loretta’s. Kyle races the mid-south hare scramble series where he finished 4th in the points for the winter season. Kyle finished 20th at Loretta’s.

Brent Stacy went wire to wire for the victory. He finished 17th overall and now has a 4 point lead with this win for the championship.

Don Loree finished in 6th so he only lost 1 point to Jason. Shannon Brown took 2nd place in his first GNCC of the year and the win went to Jason Ramsey. Points leader Marion Carpenter finished in 13th

The tree wasn't the problem. The bike shut off on my second lap at the 2nd check point and would not restart. I ended up having to be towed into the pits. It turns out that my valves were to tight. I got it fixed and I will be ready for the Penton! ;)

Way to move 300racer, After u got tangled up in the frist and second corner u only had 4 quads behind you at the top of the first hill. so to come from 44th all the way to 2nd That is movin on!

I hate when something like that happens. I, much like I am sure you did, went over my bike the night before thinking everything was ready. Right before the first checkpoint my airbox came off, so I spent the next 1 1/2 hour fighting with it to make one lap.

Maybe next race will be better, for everyone that tore up. I bet I saw 30+ bikes along the trail broke down. Good luck at Penton, I probably won't make another gncc til Sparta.
