hello just looking for some advice i installed gt thunder hd head bolt for 400 ex. drilled out old studs to base. dont want to break tru casing. taped holes 7/16-14 to bottom but studs do not seem to go down far enough to allow dowel pins to bottom out. the treads on the new studs are about 1/4 inch longer then stk bolts. can i elimanate the dowel pins ? the new studs are thicker than original. any one come across this problem. too late to redrill and tap further but i think i would have broken out of the case tru the fins on the outside if i went any further. any info greatley appreciated rustee..........................
