Okay guys I just found out my quad needs a new rod.

Basicly, the quad went into the shop just needing piston/rings, and the guy called me up and tells me my rod is bad...

I found this kit on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43977&item=4547795066&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
I think that's the whole crankshaft kit, correct?

Is that a good deal?
and for the 440 piston, would I need to bore the cylinder out or resleeve? If resleeve, where would I be able to buy a 440 sleeve?

Thanks

That is NOT a good deal... You dont need the crank man. For that much money you could do a stroker kit...You can get a Carrillo rod for around 200 bucks (contact C+D racing, the SITE SPONSOR for the best price I found...). Then you just send your stock crank somewhere that does crank work and get it installed on the stock crank. That will save you a good bit of cash over that complete crank and it should be more reliable when its done. The rod on that crank kit looks no beefier than stock. Also, when you send your crank out to get the rod installed, they usually Hardweld the crank and true it up for added strength.

As far as a 440 sleeve, pretty much anyone carries them (again, contact C+D), and yes, you will need to get resleeved for the 440.

Well I figured it would be a good deal because it comes with the piston and rings and gasket kit...which I would need also.

I dunno...he also said the picture isn't of the real crank...he said its just an example...I might go for it...but I'm not sure yet...

anyone else have any opinions?

Well I said screw it with that kit and order brand new from C&D.

426 11:1 piston kit with rings and sleeve
Carrillo H-D Rod and crank

Colby was a very nice guy and even convinced me I'd be better off with 426 then 440. Very Good service! and great prices too!

C&D=Awesome.
