Well on april 15th i was at my buddys house ridding wheelies thru his field and he has a big wooden wire spool in the middle of the field and i saw that comming i couldnt sit the frontend back down in time, and i had my right foot on the grab bar so i couldnt tap the back brakes...so i bailed...landing on my arm...i immediately got up my arm was just dangling i thought i had separated it...well i went to the doctor....them idiots only x-rayed from my elbow down...put me in a sling and sent me on my way....well 2 weeks later my upper part of my arm is swollen up my mom tells me to go back to the doctor...well i go back on thursday 4/28 and they x-ray the upper part of my arm to find out the big bone in the upper part of my arm (humerous i think its called) is broke completely in half...well they sent me immediately to an orthopedic or however its spelled...they put me in a splint and left it in my sling...i go back friday 5/6 for more x-rays...they said if the bone hasnt lined back up that they are going to have to peform surgery on me...putting a rod thru my bone...more than likely im going to have to get surgery because there is no way the 2 ends of the bone are going to line back up...i really dont want surgery....but i guess imma have to do what ive gotta do to get back on my quad again....

ill be fine i hope...i mean i walked arround for 2 weeks not knowing my arm was broke and been fine

ill post back after friday to inform what the doctor said...

sorry for the long post!!!

lol man, i used to drive sticks every once in a while and use my left hand to drive and that was great, but when i was drivin along, with my right hand only on the wheel, i would switch and try the left and i'm like, wtf!! it was so wierd, then i got my car and its a stick and now i only drive with me left hand

here's what i did, do a lot of slidin and like 40mph slides and you'll get used to drivin with your left hand:D

Oh yeah surgery sucks. May 1st of last year I had a hella wreck. I woke up in the hospital. I had flown 93ft from the jump I hit to where I landed. Compound fracture to my right humorous bone was sticking out through the skin and broke my collar bone. I had four total surgeries for cleaning and metal fixtation. I now have a plate with 6 screws holding my right arm together. I'll snap some pics of some x-rays I have if I can get them to show but heres a pic of my scar.

TCracin440ex
05-04-2005, 06:47 PM
yuck...my bone aint shatterd...but it is broke...im thinking they are going to put maybe a rod and 2 pins on each side in my arm...i dont know how many hours id be in surgery...but im hoping for a quick recovery

spraw602
05-04-2005, 06:49 PM
Good luck to ya. I still only have half usage of my arm but I can still ride!!!!! Didnt keep me down....:D

TCracin440ex
05-04-2005, 06:51 PM
ill find out more on friday when i go...idk if they are going to set the bone and cast it or if they are just gonna do surgery....i hate the thought of not bein able to shower and only takin a bath...thats why i hate casts....

spraw602
05-04-2005, 06:56 PM
Haha I showered. Just take a trash bag and some duct tape and go to town. Or find you some lil hottie to bath you, thats always nice. :D

TCracin440ex
05-04-2005, 07:02 PM
yea i kno the routine bout he trashbag and tape...i had my leg in a cast for 8 weeks....shyt with my leg in a cast i still rode....put my leg in a bag to keep mud and shyt out....i rode my 99 honda recon...rode it just like i did b4 i had my accident riddin wheelies and everything....just had to shift with my hand when i wanted to shift....

yea but there is no possible way that i can shower w/ a cast on my arm where it is because idh ave to put a bag all the way up my arm...i think imma request a waterproof cast thats if they do cast...

or the hottie bathing me would be my g/f...lol...i dont think id get much washed or accomplished lol cuz id end up draggin her in the bath with me lol

spraw602
05-04-2005, 07:07 PM
I was lucky and never had a cast. I just had a brace that looked like robocop armor. Trash bag worked for me but yeah, it was a pain in the arsss.

baker250r
05-04-2005, 07:09 PM
yea.. yesterday i was bathin and stood upfor shampoo and slipped and fell..... soaked my cast. lol, sh*t happens

TCracin440ex
05-04-2005, 07:12 PM
sucks but you can get waterproof casts....i think the cast itself is waterproof, but the cotton and shyt that they put under the cast to protect your skin aint....and u kno what happens when you get stuff like that wet...it will eventually mildew or mold...and i surely wouldnt want mold or mildew on my skin....you can get waterproof casts tho...

Scott-300ex

i couldn't eat from midnight to the surgery and it was at 10pm so it was 22 hours without eatin or drinkin a drop, man was i hungry, then the surgery was over and i felt full and threw up

but thats nothin, cuz when i was in the coma i didn't eat for 8 days

yeah, there are some NICE honey's as nurses, and they help clean ya up

to this day i still think of one of them

and i've gone back to say hi and stuff agian:D

Yeah, Surgery sucks a big one, but the Therapy is just as bad afterward.... Ill admit it, Ive been catheterized after surgery, and it SUCKED! Especially since it was a F#&%ing GUY who installed it... Believe me I *****ed to high hell about it trying to get a chick nurse to do it, but youre kind of limited when youre layed up in a hospital bed...

TCracin440ex
05-04-2005, 09:41 PM
im just hoping for the best...thats all i can do...im posta be wearing a splint on my arm now but i took it off and stuff...im hardheaded....i walked arround for 2 weeks w/o it...hell i figure whats a couple of hours gonna hurt me...i can still use my hand and can move from my elbow down but i cant lift my arm itself away from my side....

spraw602
05-05-2005, 04:25 AM
Yeah lets hope for no caths I had one in for a few days and man it sucked. Well it was actually nice to just lay in the bed and be pissing and not even know you're doing it until you see fluid running through the tube haha. Make sure they get all the air out of the line before they pull it out, if they dont it feels like their trying to rip your arss out with the cath...trust me, no fun, I cried:( lol

TCracin440ex
05-05-2005, 08:01 AM
yuck i dont want no caths...why would they have to put 1 in anyways...

Youre in the clear if youre out of the hospital... They put one in after surgery if you stay in the hospital often because the anesthesia and heavy pain meds sedate your system so bad it hinders your bladder function... They monitor how much fluid intake you have, and compare that with the amount you have coming out. If they dont match up and you start retaining urine, they insert the cath (no fun) and get you drained...

TCracin440ex
05-05-2005, 08:13 AM
i dont know how long id be in there, but im guessing not long....i mean they aint gotta peforme open heart surgery they just gotta put a rod thru my arm...im thinkin ill proally be back home shorty after...proally put me on some HD pain meds to...hopefully percosets or oxycotton lol

Yeah thats it and also in some cases, I know it was in mine, I couldnt even stand on my feet but thats just b/c I was so bruised up. Took me 3 days to walk 15 feet. It really sucks, you try real hard and you cant do it. You should be fine though. If you just go in for surgery to set the bone they will prolly just release you after surgery but if they stick a rod or plate or something in there you will prolly have to stay a day or two to make sure your body doesnt reject what they put in and to run antibiotics. If you have to stay make the best of it, even if you can wash yourself say you cant, but only if you have a hot nurse. I always waited till the midnight crew came in for my bath cause they were better looking haha :blah: Good luck to ya!

well....i just got back from the doctor...the bad news is ive got to have surgery, the badder news is i go first thing monday morning...ill have to arrive at the hospital by 11 to get it done...im kinda scared because ive never had surgery done before...i hope all goes well

i had 6 screws and a plate put in my wrist almost 2 months ago. I was in surgery for an hour no more. And although I'm a girl, I didn't have to have a cathater put in. It's just minor surgery. It hurt like hell the first night. But your putting some foreign object into your body and it will try to fight it. The doctor gave me oxycotin, but it was only 5ml. Didn't do anything. I like the Vicadin and Tylenol 3(sp). It is just now where it doesn't hurt when someone bumps it. I have to wear my brace for another 4 weeks.

Good luck with the surgery, let us know how it goes.

By the way, they will put you under, you won't remember a damn thing!!

TCracin440ex
05-06-2005, 02:15 PM
yea...i kno they are going to put me under...im just hoping for the best...most important i want full use of my arm back, and i want to be able to ride again...

i forgot exactly what the procedure is called they are giving me....i think its call induction nailing or something like that they make a small incision at the top of my arm and go down thru my bone with a nail thats about 4 inches long

today really aint been a good day i didnt get breakfast this morning and i was in the orthopedics for about 2 hours, then i had to leave there go to pre surgery and have bloodwork done...well since i didnt eat and with the combo of them taking my blood i got nausiated...i kinda got sick...they gave me a coke and some crackers...and that made me feel better...then i had to lave the pre sugery center and go talk to the anestisa doctor...and i didnt get out of doctors offices until right at 1:00...so from 9:15 til 1:00 i was in doctors offices...what a day..

and got any pics of the scar? lol

also, the big question everyone wants to know

DID YOU HAVE A CATHADER?

TCracin440ex
05-10-2005, 07:04 PM
no cath...idk how big the scar is or anything im all bandanged up bro....i can tell you they went down thru the rotar cuff with the rod so thats why im so sore....the arm itself aitn bothin me its the rotar cuff that the had to go thru thats hurting....after they put the rod thru they went thru my arm with 2 screws to hold the rod in place...he said 3 months to get FULL use of my arm back...but ill slowly gain it back...might be sooner because im a fast healer
