I have an 87' with PT 265, +2 +1 a-arms and stock swinger, I now have 20" and 18" MXRS on the front and rear. I want to go to a taller tire, would 23" XCT's in the front and 22" XCT's or Shredders be to tall on the bike. I do more trail riding and cross country than MX and need some more ground clearance.

Thanks fellas

not at all man, they'd work just fine. 1 thing I didnt like w/ the bigger tires on back was how it made me sit slightly leaned forward, but if you go w/ 21-22's up front it wont be so noticable, altho you might end up messing w/ gearing a little bit. I had a 12 tooth front sprocket w/ 22's and altho it was hard to wheelie(just broke loose) it seems to be decent for the woods(front sprockets are cheaper than rears to swap). For woods riding and +2's...a 4/1 or stock offset wheel will also help if the trails are narrow/tight

You got the right idea;)

i run 22 on the back 22 in the front and 12 front sproket and a 38 in the rear. works great. i can manage a 4th gear wheelie. but under hard accel. it doesnt want to come up. Althought i want to get some 20 inch tires cause right now it has realators which are only good for hills or dirt drags. Anyone run the H-ds yet? im thinking about getting them.

Thanks fellas, I couldn't help but think about it after reading the article in ATV Sport about the guy running 26" tires all the way around for desert racing and loved it. Makes you think:confused:

:eek2: might as well mount some 31" bfg's, lol or for that matter 45 inch thorn birds

yea, i know... im an MX man, so i dont know much about XC... but i guess i would go with 20 or 22 rears and size 1 bigger fronts for the corresponding rear
