Clutch Play

My friend and I are arguing, he has about 1 inch of play in his clutch. I tell him that is way to much but he won't listen; he doesn't like to pull in the clutch when the travel is long so he puts 1 inch of play in it! Doesnt this mean that the clutch isn't fully engaged when pulled in? What do you guys think?

Too much play need 1/4" to 1/8"

Whatever fits your riding style.Just make sure it pulls it in enough to disengage the clutch, or you'll be buying clutches like hot cakes :)
