well yesterday i was talking to both my parents a about getting a 400 because i have mastered and out grown my 250ex. i was hoping to get an 05 z or kfx, but thats not in our budget right now.

sooo, my mom said if i found a used one for 4 grand or under, its allll mine:D the only thing i have to do is find a used z or kfx and my parents are helping me look which is awesome. they said for graduation, in 08, that they will buy me a brand new, w/e i want.

and if any one comes accross a used z/kfx400 in missouri, gime a hollar:D

i think the kfx's are very nice i wanted to get one but i couldnt afford one so i got my blaster.............but n e ways i heard the Z's frames crack(just a rumor i think)

only when they first came out, suzuki was using a bad metal/supplyier and it didnt work out, but all the new ones are a differnt supplyier and such.

LOL dude a KFX and Z400 are the exact same thing, just different color plastics, but ive heard they beefed up the frame for 05 id still guesset it tho

actually i liek the 400ex alot. great bike, ridden them before.

but on another note, i ride alot of tight technical trails sometimes and reverse is nice for me. even tho i can easily pick it up and turn it around. my friend has a 450r and sometimes complains that he doesnt have reverse on trails.

dont get a ex. ull be more happy wit a z if you ride tight trails. More power than the ex and reverse

well my dad and i went and looked at the z400 and the verdict is...


WE BOUGHT IT!!!

its an 03 with white bros slip on, uni filter, re jet, dg nerfs, razr 2s on all 4s 6-ply, full skids on arms engine and swing arm. and yellow. we got it for 3,950!!

we pick it up tomorrow night and ill get some pics:D :D :) im tickled pink and i cant thank my parents enough!

I paid for 1/2 of my $2500 300ex, and it was BONE STOCK. I have had to pay for all my mods myself, and that is a lot of mods. You will love the Z. My buddy has one with a yoshi slip on, and that thing really rips. That thing is fast too, I am dead even down the road with him. I like the z-400 a lot better than the 400ex. The z has a lot more power all around than the ex, and better suspension. The only thing I dislike about the z is how high the seat feels, and how high the quad actually sits. That can be fixed with a wider axle.

Good to hear you got a quad that you like. Thats even more awsome that your parents pay for it. I payed for most of my 300ex, and so far all 2900 dollars of my 250r project. My dad does however pay for my inshurance and registration.

thats a sick quad dude and dont be sry for being like this we all were as excited and happy as you must be right now... the first thing i would do to that bike is get rid of the exhaust and get a full system and jet it up to parr and that bike will rip thats a good bike pretty quick to:)

I like it but I guess I am a little partial..but do a check in the areas of the frame that are suspect just to be sure..nothing is perfect.;)

nice lookin z. ive ridden one and the only thing i dont like is how tall they sit. they dont ramp as good as a 400ex does cuz the 400 has a lower stance to it. but if your just riding trails i guess you wont be ramping much. good luck with it tho:D

i knew how to ride a clutch when i was 10 and have time on a 450r. im well aware how to ride to, but i am deffently taking it easy for a while until i get used to the power difference from the 250.

or maybe let your parents keep the money, they bought it didn't they, so it is their money. I have bought all my own toys from the time I was in the 5th grade, 80cc dirt bike, 125 three wheeler, 600cc street bike, a 250ex to play with, 400ex, 450r last year, Only thing I got from my parents was a chest protector and new boots. Great gifts thanks mom and dad. I forgot bought my own truck and paid my way through 5 years of college.

Oh and you say your gonna take it easy.....but i can tell you now it will be hard to lol....first time i went riding on my 400 i was like, ok im gonna go easy till i get used to this. And well i couldnt resist so i went crazy and got stuck 3 times. Now i hate mud. lol

mowed lawns tossed news papers, scooped snow, flipped burgers, on and on, I didn't say they were all new bikes did I, the 250ex and 450r were the only new ones, still have the little 80cc, 250ex and 450r Just bought a 250 Ninga for my Fiance, a gift, her first bike, she always wanted to learn to ride on my 600 but I didn't want to risk getting it damaged, I could care less about this bike, just dont need her getting hurt, The bike looks and runs great though and with her on it WOW.
