450R cooling fan

I have been riding my new 450R for about a month now and I have yet to see the cooling fan come on. The overheating light does not come on, but a little bit of coolant comes out of the overflow. I was just wondering if this is normal or if I might have a problem with my fan.

Yes don't worry too much about overheating. and unless you sit around all day in one spot revving the motor or doing burnouts. Take the fan off!

That is sort of what I figured since the light never came on, but I wanted to be sure that I didnt burn something up.
