tie rod connection

I went riding this weekend a wailed a hidden rock and my tierod snapped the aluminum where it mounts to the wheel assembly and had to ride 3 miles with only left wheel steering, but i was wondering what the name of the part i snapped was so i can try to get a new one. the ear the tierod attaches to snapped right off completely. thanks

Thats the spindle, its pretty common to break since those are aluminum.

i thought the spinde was just throught the center of the hub? but yeah it is an aluminum piece, and no its not the tierod end

The piece you are taling about is the axle, its pressed into the spindle. It comes as an assembly.
