i want to know if i need to hardface my rockers for a stg 2 hotcam. i have 440 kit with haed porting trinity exhaust k&N and jetting

No.......But you do have to knurl and heat treat your oil drain plug.

do NOT harden them with a hotcam!

Because the equal lift and duration values of the #2 set up a horrific harmonic distortion in the lower crankcase causing the oil droplets to scatter wildly almost as if a mist of oil was sprayed into an opperating microwave. We all know what happens to a bowl of cooking oil in the nuke RIGHT? It gets hot...DAM HOT!!
Well the knurling will disperse these eratic hyper atomized oil droplets thus droping the core temps of the crankcase. The heat treatment of the plug will keep it from seizing itself to the threads of the case during the de-atomization process.

Now if you got reeled in by all of this B.S. I suggest you enroll into an autoshop or at least a small gas engine class.........


All The guy needed to do was read ANY literature from HOTCAMS and it states NO HARDFACING NEEDED......These are drop in cams.
