where to get a XR650R motor to put in 400ex???

I am seriously looking at putting a xr motor in my EX frame. I would like a liquid cool and a powerfull motor. I have a 500ex know, so for more power the 650 would be the next steep up.

I checked e-bay, salvage yards, search just about everywhere an I can't find anything.

Those anybody know where I could a xr650r motor?

please help.

oh yeah and if I can find a motor, my 500ex motor is for sale :D

Look in the back of dirtwheels and other mags. There are many salvage yards there. Just keep watching ebay too.

Oh and I know I can get a new motor from servicehonda but I want something cheaper ( used ) :D

Your best bet is to buy a whole bike used. That way you get get all of what you need to make it run. Like wiring,CDI,volt reg. you know those things.

yeah I know but I don't have that much money. the best would be to find a wreck, I could take the motor and wirering, but it seems that no one ever wrecks there 650 :( cause I can't find anything

I would bet a motor and harness, radiator and hoses wil run 1000 to 1500. I watched an air cooled xr600 motor that jumped time and needed new valves bring 800 on ebay. It was bored, but that was it.

yeah I know, 1000-1500 would be just fine, cause I can sell my 500ex motor for that, so it's no problem. I just can't find one :mad:

don`t really know, it all depends on how much I have to pay for the 650. I would like maybe 1800-2000$ but i don`t really know. I have to find a 650 before I sell this one
