Octane booster

Will octane booster work the same as mixing 92 octane with race fuel to achieve higher octane?

Kinda.

Octane boosters work my adding extra carbon chains to the 8 carbon chain already in gasoline (octane).

These extra chains make the fuel burn slower (more to burn), effectivly raising the octane rating.

Unfortunatly, These extra chains dont always burn clean, leaving ash in your cylinder, on your valves, and on your spark plug over time.

This can mean compression problems (too high or too low if the ash holds the valves open).

When you mix race gas and pump fuel, there are no non-burning additives mixed in, so they will burn clean.

Your best bet is to stick with mixing pump gas and race fuel.
