I dont think the KTM company makes quads, people take the engines and put them in the quad frames.

KTM makes good bikes, I just figure a quad made by them would be worth ckhecking out and I have heard they were gonna start making one. I was just wondering if I had just heard bs or not.

KTM wants to become the largest motorcycle manufacturer of Europe. Now the Austrians discovered the Quads, which sells itself at present like warm rolls. This announces our medium partner "MOTORCYCLE on-line one". The work angeheuert for its test department straight some new people with the special field of chassis for easy, four-wheeled rough-terrain vehicles, and also house designer Gerald Kiska is occupied with Quads. Meanwhile the Mattighofener admits itself with inquiries to its interest in Quads. It is also no secret that Exc and LC4-Triebwerke could form the basis for the four-wheel offensive of the Austrians. When however exactly the first Quad is presented and into series goes, over it still silence prevails. The photo assembly of "MOTORCYCLE on-line one" shows, how a KTM kTM-Vierrad could look. Title: "cart orange".

i translated it...

i really don't like ktms... they are unreliable ticking time bombs that cost a ton of money for parts... i dont' really like their bikes exspecially the no link rear ends they have... i'll stick to the big 4...

right, how many ppl that say ktms are no good have ridden one, or are you just going by how many you have seen tore up? Now if you are just saying you see them tore up, how many other brands have you seen tore up? They are strong bikes, they are good bikes, but they are gonna tear up just like any other bike. If they come out with a production 520cc quad or even a 400something cc quad, I am gonna be lookin pretty hard at one.

they all share the design. susuki makes the motors for all 3. but arctic cat is comin out with a full 450 of its own design and motor... same with kawasaki ans suzuki

I would bet more than likely all three will be just like the 400, a suzuki with the different plastic

nat really. suzuki is comin out with the new Z this summer. my friend just went to arctic cat school and he said they were workin on a new 450 with their own built in house motor. i guess it has been in R&D for a few years seein as the DVX was a big flop. Kawi isnt comin out with anything for their KFX for a year or two

I see the kawi and suzuki bein preaty much the same, but i imagine arctic cat will have a origional quad. just like their snow pro.... they want to be competitive. the DVX was just to get themselves out there in the sport quad world. they are makin a big name for themselves in the utility world, and i imagine they will do the same with their new production quad

i've ridden just about every motocross version bike they have and i've hated everyone of them... i've rode the 125 2 strokes to the 520 4 strokes... i think the jap bikes are better made... thats just me thou...

05-03-2005, 07:10 PM
Yea, KTM only makes pro racing bikes for the pros, but since the american pros get to ride the jap bikes, the jap pros race the american KTM bikes, thats why no ones ever seen them.

I have ridden several KTM bikes and from what I have talked to from racers and fellow dirtbike riders they are a really nice bike. I have personally owned a 1993 KTM 300 2 stroke bike and it kicked ***. I would love to throw the motor in a quad frame just because it was so torquey. If KTM made a quad I might have an excuse to have another quad in the garage.

KTM does make quads for Japanese pro racers, buddy.
