I have no clue bout computers but my download speed is very slow like 9kb i have high speed comcast cable and i was wondering if there is a fix for this?? thanks

When this happends to me, I also have Comcast and a fairly new pc, I do a couple of things that usaully fix it.

1- Run a virus scan (free-Avast)
2- Run a spyware remover (free-Spybot)
3- Run Disk Cleanup (Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools)
4- Run Disk Defragmenter (same place as Disk Cleanup)
5- Restart your pc


This usually fixes it for me, cuz I download alot of freeware programs, so my download speed usually slows also. If you think you have a virus though, *DO NOT* restart your pc. That's when it gets infested into you hard drive.


Try that and see if it helps (usually takes a day or two to complete the whole process).

Ad-Aware Se is good to use......my school runs it so i downloaded it and its awesome you can get it from www.download.com and just search for it...

I've down everything you said ran many other progams and my speed drops down from 50 to 8kb's im so confused
