I have never jetted a quad before and was wondering if someone can help me out. I know the 300ex I just picked up needs to be jetted but I have no idea what jets I should use.

The spark plug (Champion) that was in it when I picked it up was jet black. I replaced it with a stock NGK plug a couple of days ago.

I have a FMF Performax silencer with 9 discs.

I also have an FMF head pipe.

I have a K&N filter, without the outwears, and I am running my airbox lid.

The elevation here is 600-610 feet.

I have been advised that a jet kit is a waste of money so I am hoping that someone can give me an idea what jets I need to pick up. Or at least point me in the right direction for some information. I am totally inexperienced with jetting so any information on the process, what jets I need, etc. would be very helpful.

Thanks for any and all advice you can give me, Ben :)

I am not very familular with jetting but I have found a few links on the subject posted on this site and will pass them on to you. The links are very informative about jetting and may help you out. I also want to let you know that I have a 400EX and purchased a Dyno-Jet kit and followed their instructions and it did make a big improvement for me but that is about all I know about jetting. Check these links out and I hope they help you. http://www.eric-gorr.com/twostktech/carbtuning.html, http://www.atvnews.com/output.cfm?id=33463
