400 a-arms on a 300... possible?

hey is it possible to put the 400ex a-arms and shocks on a 300ex to get that extra inch on each side and not put a lot of money into aftermarket... can you use 300 ex shocks on 400ex a-arms or do you have to buy 400 shocks too thanks a lot everyone
