what to do? (bad buying experience)

i bought a head pipe for my 400ex off a member on this site 2 weeks ago. He told me it would fit with a slip on, so i got it to go with my HMF. Well i payed $70 for it, got it a week later and it is about 6-8 inches to short for my slip on. I have PM'd him a few times as well as e-mail him and am getting no response. I just want to know if there is a mid-pipe or something missing, or if i just wasted $70 on a useless header. It is a White bros. header for a 400EX. I am not really mad, but would like to get something done, whether get the missing parts or get my money back so i can buy a new head pipe. it has been 2 weeks since my first PM to him and still No response.

talk to the guy first about what you both want to do..if you have irreconcilable? (sp) differences than contact through PM Admin

see, that is the thing, i cannot get ahold of him. He wont answer my PM's or emails.

go to 'PM status' and see if hes read it or not. If he has you have a problem. If he hasn't, see when the last time he was online under his name. ;)

from what i understand, you need the mid pipe to get it to work, and its about that long (6-8) inches.. now i have never seen or used a hmf slipon.. but just from reading, using the search function, it sound slike you need the mid pipe..

Better yet, call up hmf, and see what you need to get it to work with the pipe you have

well the same thing happend to me I bought a silencer for my old blaster after i already had a pipe. My silencer was about 6In short too so my friends dad welded on an extra piece to make it fit and it worked for me.

he has read all my pm's and was online yesterday 4-30-05. I guess i will see if i can make a midpipe somehow, but it is still just aggrevating that he knows about it and has yet to say anything.

Sucks man, but I guess I would never just "trust" someone trying to sell me something. He lied or maybe he didnt know the answer, but a quick phone call to HMF or white brothers or even maybe a (good) dealer and you w ould have had that question answered and been an informed buyer.
