the cotter pin holds that nut on so the hub doesnt fall off...this happened to me on my old warior

the cotter pin is to keep the nut from coming completely of the axle incase it loosens up, allowing you time to slow down before you wrap yourself around the nearest imovable object.

remove it, remove the hub, apply some axle grease to teh splines of the axle, reinstall, torque to spec and REINSTALL THE COTTER PIN

pliers, needle nose pliers or vise grips, all will work. be prepared to install new ones because they can get pretty chewed up.

technically, yes. torgue values are there for a reason but a good ol' 1/2 drive socket and a length of pipe seems to work for me:p

you seriously can't look at a cotter pin and figure out how to take it out? you shouldn't even touch your quad. ask your dad seriously before you half *** something and hurt yourself.:o
