i was just wondering what your opinion was on this. i'm going to be gettin some new tires for my 400 pretty soon here. i mostly ride traiils and i have 20 inch tires on there rear right now. i was thinking about going down to 18 inch in the rear because of price, weight, and i like how 18 inch tires look. so if i get 18 inch for the rear, will i regret it since i do mostly woods ridin' and most 18 inch tires are designed for mx.....thanx

i was thinkin about gettin the 18 inch klaws on the rear and 20x6x10 klaws for the front

you should stay with the 2o inch tires. most 18 inch tires are mx and they are only 2 or 4 ply and they would were down fast. you also wouldnt have as much ground clearence[sp?]

you could try itp mxr4's, they make a 19", it's only a 2 ply but i've been running them my yfz since february and i ride more trails than tracks and i was worried about them holding up but they seem to be doing pretty good. you will be giving up some ground clearance though and every time i get in some rocks i start worrying but so far i like the advantages; better cornering, lighter, better looks.

Just go with 20 inch itp xcr's. You cant go wrong with those.

I ride trails and mess around on the MX track from time to time. I'm running Razr2 20"...I use to have Holeshots...I switched to Razor for more grip...I like them a lot better.

you would severly regret getting 18 inch rear tires after about 10 minutes of trail riding. you would hit so manyt more things with your skid and most likely damage the sidewall. the plys are very thin and cant handle that. also with woods riding you encounter mud and trail tires are 20 inches tall and 11 inches wide the 18s are only 9.5- 10 inches wide and mud would suck with those size tires. 18s are pretty much strictly for MX and SX

I agree with all of the above. I am currently running 20" in front and 18" in the rear and the only thing it is good for is the track. It performs well for the track only. If you are doing anything else such as woods, desert or just trails 20" is your best bet. 20" inchers are decent on the track also. By far the best all around size. What ever you choose... be sure to adjust you gearing accordingly.

got to dissagree with people above...i have 18's on my 400ex and ive never had a problem with them what so ever....just got to be a lil more careful when ridding in rocky trails...never regretted getting 18's on the rear 1 bit...i like the bottomend the 18's give with stock gear ratio

ive rode rocky trails with my 18s, ive rode just about everything with my 18s and i like them alot....i need to get me another set of 18's cuz my mxr are wore out im going to kenda klaw mxr rear and 20 inch mxf fronts
