Exhaust with head pipe question

My plan was to go with the HMF sport exhaust with head pipe and re-jet. But I was told by a local shop that they found a slip on exhust and re-jeting the bike was more then enough. They said that they found no more power increase with a head pipe. And the only time they found a increase in power with the head pipe was when runing a big bore kit. What have you guys found to be true.

I think the head pipe just makes it louder.

Just get the head pipe now rather than later. What you said above is correct. Even if there is no power gains on a stock motor sometime down the road you will want to buid it and then it will make a difference. It also looks better.
