ok guys before i left i got my new engine, and i was starting it and it just died....it sounds like i have a dead battery i have that stupid buzzing sound from the start relay,so i charged my battery and still the same sound,i was thinking maybe the starter is causing it to make that sound because the piston is seized?do you think it can seize that quick?is there anyway to test the quad without pulling the head off to see if it is seized,i got the quad up on a jack and i put it in first gear and i can turn the wheels its hard but i can do it but i used to do this and hear a compressing sound, now i dont hear anything?sorry for this being so long but i am getting sick and tired of this 400 everything i do it has problems,im going riding this weekend and hopefully on my Ex not my POS ozark,so can someone please help me thanks

P.S i no this isnt suppose to be here but once i get a couple responses ill delete it,thanks

im 99% sure its not your motor so dont worry about that... most definitly its electrical... take off all connections and clean them good and if it comes to it.. buy a new relay:)

Deff the selnoid. I think one of the brushes were crapped out. My buddy who owned a 400 and put a high comp piston in it he had the same thing happen. It ended up being the one brush in the motor was basically GONE.

You can get a rebuild kit for it and repair it and keep it as a spre since you will be really stressing that starter with that big mill in there or you can sell it for some extra moola. I would do the first idea!

The 400ex's starter motor replacement take aboooot say 10 minutes at max but my dads GL1100 took us 2 hours to get to! They put it up in the bellhousing of the engine :eek2:

I dont even want to think where the starter motor is on his new 1800:huh
