I want some more power for my '04 400 but dont want to go with larger displacement. Right now it is completely stock. What is the best package for power without boring the motor? I wont be doing the work so I need an estimate on any motor labor if you could (jetting, tuning, installation...etc) Price is not really an issue, just looking for best overall reliable package.

Thanks

an hmf exhaust k&n air filter jet kit would do wonders for a stocker

Stock bore high compression piston and drop in cam will give you the biggest bang for the buck hands down.

Add a slipon, with K&N filter, rejet and open the airbod lid up a little and you'l feel like you have a new quad.

The piston and cam is my suggestion. You also won't hurt your reliability that much either.

How much should it cost to install the hi comp piston/jet kit/cam?

I am now thinking Stage 1 of mods:
HMF slip-on/K&N FIlter w/outerwears/ jet kit. How can I open up the airbox and still be safe because I do alot of trail riding with some water crossings?

Stage 2 mods:
JE 10.8:1 piston and Hotcams Stage 2 cam and rejet.

yeah, i'd pass on the $20 vacuum attachment and get an EHS racing lid.

www.ehsracing.com

does the job and looks cool.

would it be ok to just go with a hmf slip-on? does the full system actual help that much?
