we still have the stock clutch since Jan 04 with the rekluse..
How often are you changing the oil and adjusting the clutch?

yeah, my stock one lasted all year but I had to replace it and I just smoked a barnett after 2 races. Well, a race and half. I'm now changing oil every race and I adjust the play if I need to. Anything else I can do? I heard to stick with OEM.

How much do you sell the Rekluse kit (Honda 450) for? And do you run it on M/X? If so how does it work for you?

we use it for all types of riding mx,xc, works great for both, I didn't like the way it felt for drag racing, it wasn't what I was used to.

I was having the same problem you are describing. You first need to replace your inner hub. Get rid of the jutterspring and put in a full size fiber. You may need to replace the pressure plate also. I did all this and smoked another clutch in 2 races. The reason is the clutch basket had grooves in it making the plates hang up. I have a new Hinson basket coming to solve it.

I am glad someone else is having the same problem. I always use oem clutch components. I am just going to run the Hinson basket.

I have been told to do that. Do you get rid of both the judder spring and the washer? Did you use another OEM inner hub. Mine is groved where the small fiber and the washer meet.

I went with the crf 03 setup and havent had any problems at all. It gets rid of the jutter spring and has worked great this year so far

Yes get rid of the washer too. You need a new hub if yours is grooved. Yes, OEM is fine. Inexpensive also.

Thanks for the info. How did you know your basket was bad too. I really don't want to smoke another clutch in a month.

I kept smoking clutches is how I figured it out. Look at your basket, The part the fibers ride on. If they have rough ridges on them then your fibers could hang up and let the clutch not be compressed together. My basket lasted a little over a season before it needed replaced.

when you say take out the judder spring, do you also take out the seat/judder. Is this the washer you guys are talking about?

Go to Service Honda's web site and check out the OEM parts finder. Print out the page for the TRX 450R clutch and then print out the page for the CRF450 dirt bike clutch. You will see the difference. If you look at the YFZ quad clutch and then look at the YZ450F you will notice the same difference.

Has anyone changed the basket yet. I'm about to tear into and I was wondering if the gear came off or did it require a press???

I changed mine to a hinson. No press was needed but had to grind the rivets off.

Thanks. Is that about all I need to know? I got the Moose billet basket and it came with new bolts. Did the gear go back onto your hinson fine?

Yes it went back on fine. Make sure you use red threadlock on the new bolts.

The job's done. Thanks for the input.

if you need a stronger clutch you can remove the clutch judder spring and clutch judder seat and replace with another fiber clutch disc. The judder is to get a smooth clutch feel on low end, but offers nothing for clutch grab.

hope this helps.
