I would say the predator just cause of electric start and they are both fairly loud stock.

I have to disagree. A mouse pissing on cotton is louder than a stock R. When my buddy first got his, I couldn't believe how much quiter than my stock Pred it was. They are both awesome machines. Like Andy said, the E-start is a big bonus while riding trails. Plus the 05 has reverse. His R is 04 and my Pred is 03. We basically only ride trails. Mine is still stock, his has 13t front, filter, pipe, jet. He said the 13t was the best thing he did to it. The same can be said about the Pred. The weight is not an issue. The Pred can easily be flicked around. Basically, it's your choice. Both machines kick *** in my mind. If you want to know more about the Predator, go to www.predatorowners.com. The site is slow, but has anything you might want to know.

I personally would buy a new 05' Tld pred tomarrow over a 450R, but thats just me. I like the reverse and electric start. The R is lighter, but the pred comes with alot of things stock that I would have to buy for the R. Which would add weight as well.

I agree ,I really wanted the 450r but for $1000.00less I got a quad that fills my needs and if I want I tweek it with mods I would have had to do to the 450r also.

the pred is a better trail quad, but the 450R is great in the trails too..

:eek2: If I did that on mine, my Predator would disown me. It doesn't like 245 lbs. crashing down on it. The stock springs are great, but not for big air with big guys :( .

I have to say that a 450r is far better for MX racing though ITs not impossible,, but its not as nimble ,were finding that out this year .

Masher13..... I'll let you know that I race w/ bombsquad54 and he tips the scales at 240lbs so don't fool yourself! That pic was taken WITH the stock springs on his quad

It all depends on riding ability. You can have a $20000 machine but it you .... you are not going to win!

You actually don't have to do much with the 450's because the are extremely fast with simple bolt ons. I am sure the predator is some what close too. It comes down to the rider!

I owned a 2003 Predator before my 2005 YFZ, i cant tell you the predator handles great and is comfortable..but its deff heavier than a 450! if your not going to be racing really competativily a predator will be great...the shocks on the TLD are just AWESOME! if your racing id go 450, but youll have to ride each to find what you like.
