Go down Green St. off 1A. High St will be on your right, just after that is a huge pit that everyone parks in. Just park anywhere and ride.

ive heard about some riding in wrentham behind the outlets anybody every check em out?

ryann mx68

yeah you can ride behind the wrentham outlets and take the old train tracks, either direction, north bound to a sand / gravel pit you have to cross rt122 [i think] some great sand jumps [stay away on saturdays] head south on tracks another place to ride, some trails, riverbeds etc. you can also cross rt1a and hit the powerlines, netra also has some trails marked out there. i think you can get to wrentham state forest from the powerlines but i'm not sure, or its the trails that run along the highway across from the outlet entrance.

Knarf0486
05-13-2005, 07:43 PM
ive ridden some powerlines right off of rt 1a in walpole with tracks running right through it into foxboro right up to foxboro stadium will those run all the way there. where are you from?

KEVIN132
05-13-2005, 07:46 PM
why not saturdays ? ep's

ryann mx68
05-14-2005, 12:18 PM
from attleboro, just moved to georgia last july. theres a ton of trails around the outlet area that probly would go to foxboro stadium [go pats!]

ive seen people crossing rt1 on 4 wheelers and bikes in between chase lumber and the stadium, and the power lines are close to that.

the sand pit sometimes is open on saturdays, so youll get the boot!

take train tracks north, youll get to an old train bridge[no longer there] cross over rt122 and youll see the entrance. i cant remember the name of the pit though.

495 south, take rt123 exit, take left, go over highway. theres a small convenience store, out behind the store is a huge place to ride, we used to park behind the building before the store. all natural terrain, hill climbs, long straights, huge whoops sections.
if you check this place out, first go past the small store until you get to the next left, theres also trails off this road [dont know the name]. before i moved they were starting to put houses next to the 1st street on left, but theres alot of riding still between the highway and the new houses. take a ride and check it out before you haul them to norton, i havent been in about a year so things may have changed.

495 north, take 1st bellingham exit, take left cross highway, get back on 495 heading south, while on on-ramp [look to the right] yeah- up that hill theres a great sand track. we used to drive our trucks with our mx bikes in the back out there. before you get back onto highway, theres a gas station, its behind that. drive out and ride, load them up and drive down that hill to get back on 495.

i'll try to think of some more for ya

when you get a chance try these sites out just to get a idea of how many tracks and orv parks are in this state.

www.georgiaoffroad.com click on mx tracks and orv

www.ga-mxracing.com click on tracks

theres aprox 2000 acres behind my house, army corp of engineers land, so its nice to be able to ride anytime out back. the red clay stains your gear, other than that its awesome, northern georgia is very hilly, if i had to compare its close to new hampshires terrain alot of mountains and the weather is much better.

thats sweet man you got tons of riding down there. Georgia jsut wouldnt be my place though, i like to be able to ride sleds in the winter in nh. It would be better for you cause you got a construction company and around here thats gotta be tough in the winter months. thanks

i just thought of another place, ive only been there 1 time but it was a pretty good track, i followed someone to it so i really wasnt paying attention. i think its in raynham. you can see it from 495 south, after rt24 on right hand side, 495 goes from 3 lanes down to 2, its after that happens. we took a bunch of side roads to get there, the kid i followed was from raynham and that track wasnt far from his house.

i always saw the big sand berm every time i was heading to capeway.

being a member of atvconnection.com also i was browsing their website in search of some eastern massachusetts riding i stumbled upon a thread concerning an eastern mass atv club. several of their members are outraged by what massachusetts has done for orv usage in past years, closing several parks to orv usage etc., and they weer looking to just a bunch of people that are interested in forming a club for atv riding in eastern mass. if your interested check out the original forum, which is rather extensive and gets into why everyone is so mad at http://forums.atvconnection.com/messageview.cfm/catid/27/threadid/451761.cfm or you can just say you are down for an eastern mass club at http://forums.atvconnection.com/messageview.cfm/catid/2/threadid/453350.cfm

thanks for the help, and im goin to be making a new thread concerning the same topic.

I always see that track whenever I'm heading to the cape. I tried getting out there once but I didn't have any luck. Do you happen to know which exit off of 495 South you had to take when you went there?

Being a Taunton resident I know just about every place. Unfortunately access is quite limited to almost all of them due to the rapid incerase in houses along the property lines. Any place where there was riding area is hard to get to unless you park far away and skip down the road a piece or if you know someone that lives nearby. Here are a few places off the top of my head that ive been not only with my quad but with my truck:

Note all are in Taunton and all are lacking no trespassing signs so if anyone questions me ill have a good argument if someone questions me.

1. West Water Street Pit: this is along the Taunton River and has a couple hills and some sweet jumps. A small mudhole but the mud stinks because its riverbed sludge. There are also some woodland trails which lead to the tracks but you cant go too far because the power plant stops you and taunton green is on the other side.

2. Glebe Street and Rocky Woods extension: This is off route 44 almost to Rehoboth. Its better to load up on a pickup and park at the school on North Walker Street and ride in. Once inside there are miles of trails and mudpits. Mostly woods and trails but thats about it. The boys at Bettencourts know about this place and its the reason I lifted my Tahoe 10".

3. Abandoned Railroad beds behind Dog Track: These run behind the dog track pretty much parallel to 138. I only know of 2 ways in. Once inside you can follow them to the power lines that cross 138 before 106. I havent been in there on my 400 yet so I dont know how accessible it is. If you can grab those powerlines it would be possible to ride to Middleborough and possibly further. Im in the process of finding a better access point as I know the owner of Competitive Edge and his shop is along the tree line to the beds.

4. Sand Pits behind Galleria Mall: Entrace off Stevens street. Mostly open fields great for practicing wheelies. Some woodland trails and a mushy sand pit. Unfortunately this place will be going the ways of the wind soon as yet another Industrial Park will be replacing it.

5. Quarry behind Aggregate Industries in Raynham: Off King Philip street. I used to ride there alot last year but too many people found out about it and they locked the gate out front. There is a back way in but I havent been in there since to see how secure it is.

6. Railroad Tracks behind Myles Standish Industrial Park. There are numerous ways in here and lots of different places to ride. Havent been in there in a while but I can tell you what streets cross the active tracks.

The last place I cant share because its my special place. Very close to my house and where I go EVERY sunday. Lots of hills to climb and no people.

Someone mentioned a place in Norton off 123. Be warned this place no longer exists. It has since been taken over with apartment houses. That was the first place I ever took my truck back in high school.

I know other smaller areas throught the neighboring towns but usually stay close to home because most of my boys dont want to drive far. Plus its hard to park a bunch of trucks and trailers in a school parking lot and not be nervous about cops.

I think thats the place that has all houses now. It used to be crazy to ride in. ALl the good places have been built out or turned into industrial park land. I only bought my 400 about 2 months ago so im re-finding all the trails I used to hit years ago. Ill keep you guys posted on what I find.

Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a group of people who would be interested in weekend rides. My property backs up to about 2400 acres of great ridding! Lots of pits, hills, trails and just about anything else you would want. I've been ridding here since I moved in last November and haven't been bored with it yet.
I usually ride with 2 friends but sometimes it's hard for them to ride every weekend. I'm looking for a few more ridding buddies so I don't have to ride by myself.
Let me know if anyone is interested..... Parking is no problem! I have plenty of space on my property. Call my cell @ 508-317-7386 and leave a message.
Thanks,
Mike

I love that place too so I'll keep my mouth shut on that one lol... Whats up brad? Nice to see you on here. I have my raptor in pieces still so I haven't had a chance to get out there with you guys again. Even though the blaster did alright the last time for me.

To check out some potential riding areas I use
http://maps.google.com

with that you can switch from the satelite images which are 6-18 months old, to the traditional map, So if you see a spot that looks good, you can find the nearest street to get there.

By the way, do you know the deal with Copicut st? Theres a professional looking track over there now but I haven't had a chance to swing by on a sunday to see whos there.

I'd post some videos up from the last time we rode, but ppl get kinda anal about the no helmet thing.

---------------WiLL

edit: directions for getting to the place you see off 495:
Head to Silko Honda in Raynham. Take your first left after that onto Church/ Leonard st. Stay to the right and follow Leonard st, at the end take a right onto Forest st it will then turn into Pine st.
At the end is where the trails are. If you notice the guys house on the left with the track in the front yard, I'd probably stop by and ask him first.

Be sure to use the zoom in feature for the following links:

Heres a pic: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=silko+honda+raynham,+ma&ll=41.924161,-71.000830&spn=0.007778,0.010439&t=k&hl=en

Another place of interest is off of Rt6 in dartmouth

Ill have to hitch a ride with one of the guys and see what the deal is out there. Thanx for the maps.. ill be checking out a bunch of places now. My brother never wants to check out any of these places so im kinda on my own scoping them out.

they arent anymore, just the gravel. if you used to ride out there, youll know the 1/2 mile straight aways, all whooped-out. oh yeah, the train bridges arent there anymore either, just the huge granite blocks are all thats left.

dns1764 and Shawthy33. Im from right outside of Worcester. I go to Franklin and Wrentham a few times a year. Been there several times and know most of the trails that are good and get you places. Pretty safe place to park. Its probably going to be wet for awhile still but im going to be checking it out in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you want to meet up. I go early weekend mornings, get there for 9/10ish. I also know several other places near me that would be fun for newcomers. Ive ridden locally for 11 years or so. Not like it used to be but i get places still.

loc0gring0, are you a CEG'er? I recognize the name from the forums. Was going to buy one of yours a year ago or so. You ride quads too? I go west to the berkshires if your interested in those parks or elsewhere.

Looking to go riding every weekend if i can set something up in time. Let me know.

hondaREX - thanks man, I often times leave my wheeler up in Maine since I ride up there a lot out of my buddies camp and my parents house. I had a pretty good wreck on Easter Weekend but will be back on it pretty soon, I'll bring it back down to Mass next time I go up and will get in touch.

I grew up in Stoughton, used to be some great places near Canton line. I just checked via Google Earth and looks like some of it has been developed but may try it anyways.

I have been taking my dog for runs up in the Franklin State Forest preserve in Franklin and ran out onto the Power Lines that run behind the preserve land last night. Looks like a few good lines and some decent riding, has anyone ever ridden along these?

How far do they go? I'd probably have to trailer my wheeler across town but then it looks like the best place to ride near me.

shawthy33. The lines in Franklin are the ones i was talking about a few posts back. There is good riding there but i believe the DCR frequently visits the area. PM me and ill get you to some nice riding there.
