05 400ex ignition relocation

i have and 05' 400ex and am looking to get some bars but am wondering where to relocate my ignition ... :confused:

You could cut a 1 inch hole in your plastic somewhere.

Gt Thunder had some metal brackets also. Look under the z400 section on there site.

Or if you have an anti vibe stem, you could buy a walsh race craft bar clamp that has a spot to mount the key and a pro design kill switch.

If your cheap you could always zip tye it to your frame. Or make your own bracket.

Theres not much for options after that.

i think ill make my own bracket cuz my friend made a diamond plate one for his 250 so maybe we could make one thanks anyway

I drilled a hole in the front lid and mounted it there...

i talked with tag metals and i guess they are coming out with a T2 (fat bar) clamp kit that relocates the indicator lights and key switch, i no thats what im going to get as soon as i get some CASH:D

I just tucked my indicator lights under the hood.

i have an '05' and relocated mine to the left side above the front fender. its out of the way and doesnt catch on anything. take the neutral and reverse lights off, you dont need them anyway. for some reason when i removed the green and red lights- yeah now it also starts in reverse. use a uni-bit to drill the hole, the ignition will snap into place, mine hasnt moved at all, even when i flipped it over. disconnect neutral and rev from harness and also removed the other ends just below front sprocket.

I drilled a hole in mine as you can see in this picture. The only problem is the plastic is a little to thick and it pops out once in a while. The hood on the 05's would probly be a pretty good spot.

Go with the trail tech bar clamp for the 450R. That's what I did for my wifes 05' 400 ex. It has the "TRX" cover plate to relocate ing, and indicator lights.

are you sure u used to 450r dash? I looked at it and theres no holes for the lights. Can u post pics?
