Should I get it? I've been wanting an exhaust on my 300EX, and this one is cheap......I just want to make sure it's in a decent shape, and that it won't screw up after one ride. What do you guys think?

It should be fine.

You will most likley want to replace the packing inside (simple and cheap) the cannister. It looks like he's ridden in the woods/mud/water a lot, so the packing is most likley ruined. Wich is ok.. it's just fiberglass insulation that you'll have to replace occasionally anyway. (you'll notice a tinny sound when revving your engine if it's gone bad, basically it's making the cannister vibrate because it's not absorbing the soundwaves.).

You'll also want to replace the lead gasket at the engine. They are cheap as well. You can get one at your dealer they most likley have them in stock. You don't want that to leak, it will make you run very lean and can cause major damage if left unchecked. Better to be safe than sorry.

I just talked to my mom ans she said it was up to my dad if I get it or not. He's gonna be home in about a half hour, and then I'll let you guys know if I'm getting it or not. I have a question. Can a pipe for a 400EX fit on a 300EX? I've found abunch of pipes for sale that i like, but ehy're for the 400EX. Is there any modifying or anything I can do to make them work on ym 300EX?

do yourself a favor and just get an HMF. There are several companies that can get you one shipped for about 210 bucks. Thats only 70 more than that piece of crap on Ebay for a brand new pipe with a warranty.

The thing is, I was trying to get one for my birthday. I have a $150 limit and $210 isn't under it! I'll go and ask though, they might say yes, but I highly doubt it!

and no a 400ex head pipe won't fit on a 300ex, i'm not sure about a slip on but the 300 has a single exaust port and the 400 has dual exasut ports. don't buy a 400 full system cuz it wont fit

OK....Everyone just forget about the eBay exhaust system. I didn't get it, so now I'm looking at brand new exhausts. I know someone with a Cobra on his 300ex and it's not a very good pipe and is relly loud. save your money and get the HMF.;)

I've heard SuperTrap is a good pipe, so what make's them worst than HMF? I can save about $100 if I go with the SuperTrap. if you have a $150 limit, you only have to WORK and SAVE about $70 to get a HMF from C&D Racing.

Have you also considered the cost of the air filter/jets?

I have been searching for a couple of years for a job, and I can't !find anyone who will hire somone under the age of 17! I'm gonna go ahead and get the SuperTrap though, cuz it's under the limit, it's a good pipe, and I'll be helping out a guy on the forum.

i would save your money, and get a full HMF exhaust, ive never been impressed with a slip on, just seems to make it louder. if you want to just make it louder, pull the insert out of your stock exhaust. its not as loud as an aftermarket exhaust but it has a good sound to it.
